Again, it has been a long time since I’ve posted anything and I always say that I will try to keep it more up-to-date, but I never do. However, again, I will say I will try to keep this blog more current and post more often. I do have lots of things to talk about but I’m not sure I can remember it all. I’ll do what I can and fill in later if I remember something that I really need to say.

First of all, yes, I’m still here, living in the Philippines. Still in the same place (same city, same house). It’s been almost 16 years, 3 months since I moved here. Never did I think I would stay so long, but it’s great living here. I do miss Texas sometimes, but, overall, it’s wonderful here and I have pretty much adjusted to a nice lifestyle.
As for my leg, well the sore on it FINALLY went away. It took almost 3 years to be completely healed, but that is done. Hopefully, it won’t flare up again, like it did twice before. I think it will not do it again because now is different, the wound is completely gone. Now, I still have poor blood circulation in my legs, which is way the wound too so long to heal, and my legs still swell up when sitting too long, but I’m working on that also. Right now I wear compression socks most of the time. I finally found some that are the right size prescribed by my doctor that are not so tight on my legs that I can’t stand wearing them. These are nice and tight and do leave indentions in my legs, but, for some reason, not uncomfortable to wear. I’m taking medication to try to heal my blood vessels to get the flow going in my leg properly again, but the doctor is not sure that will ever happen. We shall see and even if surgery is necessary, I’ll probably do it.
As for the rest of my body, I have been also trying to improve that. For the past 3 months I have been going to the gym 5 days a week. I have a trainer to help me do the right exercises (costs only P3500 ($58) per month). The gym fee is P1200 ($20) per month. The thing is though, I don’t think, I look that much different, although several people have told me they can see a difference. Now, I do feel a lot better and my strength is increasing. I remember on some of the weight machines starting out with about half the weight I am able to do now. My overall goal is to lose weight, not gain a lot of muscle. Since I’ve started slowing down on eating (since last December) I have actually lost 18kg (about 39.5 lbs). Things have slowed down recently, but, as I said, I feel so much better. I kind of look forward to going to the gym now, even though I still hurt when I’m down, it’s a good hurt. Just last week I paid the trainer for 1 more month and just a couple of days ago paid my gym fee for 3 more months. I’m committed (finally) to continue working out and, hopefully, I’ll see a significant difference in my body by the end of this year.
As for what I have been doing at home, well, I have been writing song lyrics. After writing them I use AI to help me find the right music and then post my songs on YouTube. Now I don’t know how to put videos or even pictures on my posts, but the audio is there. I have approximately 130 songs on there right now. Of course, not all of them are good songs, but different people like different things. Now and again, if a song is not doing well, I will redo it. That has paid off several times, but not always. A lot of the songs, maybe even half of them, are from old poems that I wrote years ago. The poems needed some touching up and some word adjusting, but, basically, it’s the same meaning from the poems. I will leave the link to my YouTube page on here in case anyone wants to check them out. If you do, please leave a comment (good or bad) so I’ll know how to improve if necessary. I want to put my songs on Spotify (or any other music platform) but I’m not sure exactly how to do that yet. Several of my songs, I think about 10 of them, have been sung by local bands. Tonight, at Mango, the young lady singing there just learned a new one of my songs. She sung it last Sunday, but she still needs to work on it a little bit. I’m sure she’ll sing it again tonight. One of my songs, Filipina Rose, is pretty popular. Of the 4 bands that play at Mango each week, 3 of them sing it. I think the Friday night band plays/sings it the best. I just finished another song called “My Filipino Girl” and I’m wondering if that one will catch on as well. Anyway, here is the link to my YouTube, please check it out. UJTXPI – YouTube. If the link doesn’t work for some reason, just go to YouTube search, type in UJTXPI and then click search. It should be the first option, the armadillo with the cowboy hat.
That’s all I have for now. I think that on all my new posts I will leave a link to one of my songs. Maybe that will inspire me to continue to post. I won’t do them in order so hopefully I won’t repeat any.
Salamat Y’all

Howdy again UJ,
i went to your music page and wow!!! Most of the ones you wrote are pretty damn good and probably make the charts if a good producer or country singer picked them up. “Darkness follows me” is really good.
Thanks. I wish I knew of a way to get a good producer or ANY good singer to notice them. I have some of them (30 right now) on Spotify and Apple Music, plus about 21 other places. Hoping they get noticed. I like the “Darkness Follows Me” also, along with “Killer Love” and several others. I know some of them are not so good, but others may like them (sentimental and all).
I’m glad to know you were listening to them. Feel free to share them all with others.
Love the “Filipina Rose…good lyrics and catchy title…that could be a one hit wonder if Picked up and done by Neal McCoy
Thanks. I wish a big star (or an upcoming one) would get ahold of one of my songs. They don’t have to be a Filipino, but I’ll take what I can get at this point. I just wrote another one called “My Filipino Girl”. Actually, I wrote quite a few more, but that’s the latest about the Philippines.
Here is the link to my YouTube page to check out all the songs. I know some of them are not so good, but I think others are great. I’ll let you judge. Let me know what you think of them. https://www.youtube.com/@johnwjr7/videos
