Still going to the gym on a regular basis, 5 days per week, but there will be changes made soon. Changes because even though I have been working out, I’m not losing any weight. I’ve got it narrowed down to 3 problems and I’m going to resolve 2 of those problems in the next week or two. The 3rd problem I might not bother with if taking care of the first 2 proves sufficient.

The 3 problems: (1) Although I’m working out, I do not do very much aerobic exercises. (2) On the nights I go see the band at Mango (bands are there Thursday through Sunday) my wife asks me to bring her home a sandwich. When I bring it home, she doesn’t eat and and lets it stay in the refrigerator. If it stays there too long, then I just wasted money buying it. So, I eat it for lunch the day after I get it, if she doesn’t eat it for her night meal (which is what she wants it for). (3) I went into a 7-11 for the first time here in the Philippines awhile back and decided, since it’s my first time in one here, I should buy something. That something turned out to be milk tea. Seems I like milk tea quite a bit. One of the few things I drink besides water, lemon water and calamansi water. I’ve already stopped drinking beer, hard liquor and soda, so I’d like to have something different.
The 2 that I plan to fix are the first 2 (aerobic and sandwiches). For the aerobic, I went on Chat GPT and got an exercise program that suits my age and abilities. I showed it to my current trainer and he approves. So, when my current time with the trainer expires, I think this coming Saturday is the last day, I will not renew. My gym time will change from 0830 to 0530 (or 0600) and after my new workout, I will walk home. That is about a 30 minutes walk. That will satisfy the aerobic part. Although I will be exercising only 4 days per week (instead of 5), I’ll still get a good workout. Currently I go to the gym everyday except Wednesdays and Sundays. With the new work out, I will be off on Fridays also. However, on Wednesdays I will still need to do the aerobic part. So I’ll figure out a route close to the house I can do early in the morning before the sun gets too hot.
As for the sandwiches, well I’m just simply going to stop buying the ones I like so much. I will buy her what they call at Mango the “Baby Boy” burger. It costs less and if she doesn’t eat it, I will just take the meat from it and use it in an omelet that I ‘usually’ eat for brunch. If there is a burger in refrigerator, and I’m not having an omelet that day, well then the dog will be very happy.
As for the milk tea, well, I can stop it also, but only if eliminating the first 2 things does not work. In fact, Nening just returned (while I was typing this post) and brought me 8 bottles of milk tea (all they had in stock for now). It’s P84 ($1.40) per 500ml bottle and worth it to me.
Also, something new that I just talked to my doctor about is beets. I heard, then read, recently that beets help open up your blood vessels and promote good blood flow. Since I have a problem with my legs swelling up (because of poor blood flow), I thought I would try it. If it doesn’t work, nothing lost. The only thing is, I was told by my doctor that the beets should be eaten raw. Just peeled, sliced and eaten. I never did that before. In the US all I ate was the beets from a can. They are alright, not great. I can endure a little bad taste as long as it works.
As I was typing the 2nd sentence above, I got a delivery from Lazada (like Fingerhut). It is the flashdrives I ordered. I plan to put, probably 58 of my songs (58 because that’s the year I was born) on each of those flashdrives (20 of them). They will be given away at Mango. I’m not sure what criteria Christian will set to receive one, but as long as my music gets out to a lot of different people, that’s what I want. I’ve actually already put 55 songs on one of them and few days ago and made sure they all work. Now I’ll add 3 of my recent ones (all not on YouTube at this time) and then copy that one on onto the remaining 19 drives.
One of my wife’s first cousins died last week. The funeral will be tomorrow. He is the one that, long ago, we paid to have his bad kidney removed. He found out a few weeks ago that he had liver cancer and it was pretty advanced. It’s sad that he died, but it’s good that he didn’t have to go through a lot of pain. Recently he had been looking too thin. I adviced him he should eat more than just rice and fish, but then we found out about the cancer. Although I didn’t see him much, I’ll miss him. He was a pretty cool guy.
I guess I’ll end on that sad note. I need to get started on copying my songs. I have 1 other song that I have already started and then I’ll get back to watching those additive Chinese dramas on YouTube. Hope everyone is doing well in this crazy world.
Salamat Y’all
The song for this blog is actually the first song that I put on YouTube. It’s called Devil Town.
